Mental Health First Aid
The help offered to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until appropriate treatment and support are received or until the crisis resolves.
In this 8 hour course will teach participants how to recognize the symptoms of mental problems, how to offer and provide initial help, and how to guide the individual to professional help, if appropriate. Each participant will receive a certificate at the completion of the program.
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training
ASIST is a two-day interactive workshop in suicide first aid. ASIST teaches participants to recognize when someone may have thoughts of suicide and work with them to create a plan that will support their immediate safety.
